Motorcycle accidents in Thailand frequently happened during daytime and were found with highest severity index. Many agencies, therefore, put additional emphasis on the use of motorcycle headlight due to the fact that it can improve the visibility of other vehicle drivers and also other motorcycles while riding on the same roads.

The ThaiRoads Foundation and the Thai Health Promotion Foundation realized the significance of this problem and considered as one of key indicators for road safety in Thailand. Therefore, this led to the survey on motorcycle headlight use rate in Thailand with key objective to show the ratio of headlight use while riding on motorcycle as well as to monitor and present the current situation of Motorcycle headlight use in 2012.
